KTMCC Mission Field

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.Ask the Lord of the harvest,
therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Mathew 9:37-38

When we encounter the words “missionary” or “mission field,” what often comes to our mind is a picture of a “full-time” or vocation minister travelling to a remote jungle location to speak to a tribal group about Jesus. In today’s world, however, many realities compel us to take a close second look. Most of the world’s population is now increasingly concentrated in urban areas. Many adults spend the majority of their waking hours in the workplace, interacting closely with people with whom they have no previous relationships. And many of these people have no real relationship with Jesus Christ or never heard of Jesus! An ideal place to start Missionary work!

The goal of Missionaries is to bring the good news found in the Bible to the people who have never heard it either in rural or urban areas, young or old, Schools or hospitals and market or any public place. Missionaries needseven help people toget drinking water, shelter, education, medical support and whatsoever require to the growth of humanphysical requirements. The mission statement of the Salvation Army summed as ‘soup, soap and salvation’ is based on this concept. However, a missionary's work is first and foremost is to share about Jesus Christ.

Missionaries usually come from a particular church or denomination. An individual might decide to become a missionary after he/she feels the burden of responding the call of God. In Mark 16:15, we can see Jesus says; "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature".

With these words, Jesus made it clear exactly what His disciples were to do - they were to spread His teachings in His name, preaching salvation unto the ends of the earth. (Rom. 10:18) If you consider yourself a "believer", then you must consider yourself a "disciple" of Jesus - no less called and chosen than the very first 12 apostles. There are no such things as "1st class" Christians and "2nd class" Christians - every believer is called to spread the Good News about Jesus to those who have not yet heard. Jesus' command is definite and clear - it is His great mandate, His "Great Commission" to the soldiers in His holy army. We must go, because our great General has commanded us to go.

Majority of us are engaged with our secular job but, it is one of our basic responsibilities to spread this GOOD NEWS. How it possible?

There are at least five groups of performers in the Missionary activities. As per the great MissionaryPaul in Romans 10:12-15, they are Senders, Preachers, Hearers, Believers and Worshippers. Obviously the senders appear on the scene first, and nothing happens until they start acting! Sending forth missionaries is fundamental in missionary work. Sending involves praying for the work and the workers, giving liberally, refreshing the missionaries, encouraging the work and new believers by visits, and involving personally in neighborhood evangelism.

The forefathers of KTMCC had this great burden of Missionary work so they started the “Mission Field supporting” in early years. It started with a couple of Mission fields butnow it reached to 61 Mission Fields in the year when KTMCC completed 61 Year in 2013. Thank God.

Please remember the words of William Carey "Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God."After hearing an account of the spiritual needs of India, the secretary of the meeting remarked: "There is a gold mine in India, but it seems almost as deep as the center of the earth. Who will venture to explore it?". “I will venture to go down," said Carey, "but remember that you must hold the ropes." Shortly before his death, Carey said to a friend: "You have been saying much about Dr. Carey and his work. When I am gone, say nothing about Dr. Carey; speak about Dr. Carey's Savior."
